For Chris' 30th birthday I planned a little vacay for just the 2 of us. We were so excited to get to be alone for 3 days without any kids. We have only left our kids 2 other times overnight and we were hardly gone for more than 24 hours, so this was a first for us and it was great. We left on thursday afternoon and went down and first checked into our hotel. We walked down thestrip a bit and went and ate at Outback Steakhouse, one of our FAVORITE restaurants. I know we have one here in St. George, but we only eat there on very special occasions, about once a year, so we really enjoyed it. After we walked down to the Belagio water show, which is cool to see though I have to admit that once you see the Disney World of Color show, it isn't that impressive.
The next day we got up and went to breakfast and then to the Shark Reef. Then we drove up to tzhe HUGE vegas outlet mall and shoppped for a good 4-5 hours. Let me tell you, it is pure HEAVEN to shop without kids!!! Usually we would be lucky to shop for 1 hour with happy kids, so this was special. Next we went to the Stratosphere and rode 2 of the rides AT THE TOP of the hotel, ONLY 1,100 feet above the ground. The one is a ride that takes you and hangs you face down off the edge of the building. SO SCARY!! It is giving me anxiety now just thinking about it! Anyways, we also did the Big Shot which is like the Rocket at Lagoon, only this one is 1,100 feet above the ground, so even more terrifying!!! I still can't believe we did it, but it was a blast. We then went to the Cheesecake factory for dinner and then to the Terry Fator Show. He is the Ventroliquist that won America's Got Talent. He was absolutely hilarious. Well worth the money.
The next morning we went to breakfast and then to the other outlet mall for more shopping. Then we finally started for our way home! It was such a fun trip and was so nice to get away from life. I definitely missed the kids, but I have to admit I still wasn't ready to come home to them quite yet! Ha, Ha. The only thing I wish I could have changed was that I wish we didn't have to go to VEGAS to do the fun things we did. I hate all the VEGAS-NESS every where you look. It's ok every couple years though I guess?! Thanks SO much to my family who watched our kids while we were gone
