Spring Break

Monday of Spring Break we cleaned house, did laundry, babysat 2 neighbor girls, made brownies, and just hung out. Tuesday was our favorite play date of the year! Snow Canyon sand dunes! Once again it was an amazing day! I invited my bff Donna and her kids plus there was about 15 other ladies and a million kids! We left our house around 10 am and didn't leave the sand dunes til 5:15! It's the best!

Wednesday we left for Salt Lake around 10:30. We went to Nickel Mania and played the arcade games. We had a lot of fun! Adisyn's favorite was the "caroself"

Thursday Grandma had to work so we went in to visit her and the kids got to eat lunch there. A funny story about Adisyn: Grandma was introducing us all to the secretary. The secretary says, "these must be special visitors!" So then Addie says, "I'm special, Ashtyn is special, Collin is special, Camden is special, and I"M LUCKY!" Ha ha! It was so random and cute!

Went to IKEA later that day:

Friday we went to the Utah Natural History Museum:

And then to lunch and Mrs. Cavanaugh's chocolate factory for a tour:

Saturday we went to lunch at Pizza Factory with Beau and Megan. Then we headed up to Park City for some shopping at the Outlets. It was an awesome trip/spring break! but I am also glad school is back in!

Addie's hair cut by Collin

I thought I was going to escape the dreaded "my child cut their own hair" story, but I guess not. I was painting my bathroom and closet and Gemma comes in and says "Collin cut Addie's hair." I dropped my roller and ran to see the damage. It was pretty bad! I kept saying "We don't cut hair, only paper!" He cut a huge chunk out of her bangs and a big chunk on the side of her head. I was mad, but really there was nothing I could do about it, and I wasn't exactly watching them very good. (Although, I had JUST got down the puzzles for them 2 seconds before and there was no scissors to be found!) Collin and Addie kept saying, "It looks like Grandma's now, like grandma's hair." Grandma has the "side swoopy bangs", which is kinda what Addie's new bangs looked like, but way too short. I just laughed at that comment. Collin said the girls told him that I said he could cut her hair. They also put all the hair in a ziploc baggie. I guess maybe they thought we could reuse it or something! The next morning I took her to Janae hoping she could magically make it all better. She worked her magic and it doesn't look too bad now. The hair cut is adorable and all is good now!

Presidents Day Weekend

My mom got this crazy idea that I should meet her in Fillmore with the kids and they would take them from Thursday-Monday of Presidents Weekend. I of course was not going to turn down a weekend with no kids :) Grandma had all sorts of fun things planned for them. They went to Wheeler Farm, made Valentines cookies (and took them to Shelli's house), Ashtyn got to sew a cute apron, They made their own cars for a "drive in movie" and had lots of other fun! They are so lucky to have such amazing grandparents! (And uncles and aunts, Candice and Kaden helped, too:)

Chris and I had been toying with the idea of painting our main living areas for a couple weeks. We were waiting on someone to come give us a bid because I insisted that I would never want to do all that work myself. Monday before Presidents day weeekend, I started thinking that we could do it ourselves with the kids being gone. My mom said we could easily do it ourselves and Chris was on board, so we decided to go ahead and do it. Tuesday I started fixing wall dents and doing as much prep work as I could before actually tearing the house apart. The prep work took a long time, but finally at 2:30 Friday afternoon we were putting paint on the wall. Our first coat of ceiling/walls took 4 hours, the second coat just 2 hours. It was a ton of work, but definitely worth the end result. We enjoyed the weekend with out kids, went to dinner, painted, painted, and painted some more, and even managed to squeeze in a couple Parade Homes. Here are a couple pics of our project.

We ended up buying new furniture and making some new decor for our walls. It's been kinda fun with new, fresh decor and paint.

Hopefully it doesn't take me long to put pictures in my frames and get the rest of my stuff back on the wall:)

Hiking at Snow Canyon

A couple weeks ago the weather was super nice so we decided to take the kids out to Snow Canyon. We first did a hike and then played in the sand. It was a great family day!
