Camden's first day of preschool

Camden also had his first day of preschool this past week. He loves preschool! He thinks he is so big and old when he goes to school. His favorite things so far are: playing with friends, snacks, and doing show and tell. Here he is on his first day!

Ashtyn's first day of 1st grade

Ashtyn started first grade this year. She has been so excited to get to go to school ALL day long and get to eat lunch at school. So far, she is loving her teacher, recess, and most of all.... LUNCH TIME! Ha, I never would have thought that lunch would be this picky girls favorite time of the day. She has tried quite a few days of hot lunch and loved it. Here she is on her first day!

Yankee Meadow Half Marathon

I have been training for a half marathon for about 10 weeks now. In a really weird way I have loved it. It's been hard, time consuming, exhausting, satisfying and fun all in one. I learned so much about running and exercising. After I am done running, I feel like I've accomplished something more than just laundry and dirty diapers. My sister and I drove up to Parowan to run the Yankee Meadow Half Marathon this morning. We started at the Yankee Meadow Lake and ran down into Parowan ending at the Fair Grounds. I really enjoyed running in the peaceful beautiful mountains. I could hear the rushing of the river as I ran beside it. I had a hard time the first 3 miles breathing in the high altitude. The road/dirt road/gravel was downhill nearly the entire time. It was, however, tough on my calf muscles and thighs! When I reached mile 6 I was feeling REALLY good and the time was flying by. By mile 9 I started to slow a bit. Then by mile 11 it was getting really hot and my body didn't have much energy left! I knew I only had 2 more to go, so that kept me going. When I saw mile marker 12 I was elated! I ended up walking about 3/4 of that last mile (since I was walking as fast as I was jogging, ha, ha!) My family was there at the finish line. It brought tears to my eyes to see them there cheering me on. I was so happy to see them! I finished in 2 hrs. 40 minutes, which averages to 12 minute miles. I am happy with that time, even though I was one of the last. I am ready to run another one and improve my time! Candice and I before waiting for the race to start:
